Q. If we select Cosmic Photography to photograph our wedding, will it be you taking the photographs?
A. Yes! We do not hire other photographers to do our work. We are not an agency and do not operate as such.
Q. Do you use film or digital cameras?
A. Digital. There are a number of reasons why, such as post shoot manipulation, quality, ease of access etc.
Q. Can digital photographs look as good as film?
A. Simple answer, yes, and quite often better. With digital you can have the same photo in colour, B&W, Sepia, or any number of tones, all from the same colour image.
Q. How many photos would you take on a shoot?
A. We have no set figure. Some photographers limit there shoots to say 100 shots, or whatever figure they decide. Imagine they have filled the quota and the perfect candid shot presents itself, what then? OK, they may take the shot, but they will draw the line somewhere, WE DON'T! Whether it be 50 - 100 - 500 or more, we have no limit.
Q. How much do you charge for wedding photography?
A. Each Wedding is an individual event, and each couple are individuals with their own ideas and requirements. We build our fee in a simple manner; our time plus the material costs. There has also been instances where a couple have chosen a album package of 20 prints, but on seeing the proofs wanted more. For this reason you can decide on the album package, number of prints etc, after seeing the proofs.
Q. It's great that you are flexible, but we would prefer to know the cost upfront.
A. Sure you can choose to decide on your album size and print quantity when you view your proofs, but you can also decide at the time of booking what you would like, the choice is yours.
Q. Some wedding photographers have preset packages, like bronze, silver, gold etc. Do you have preset packages we can choose from?
A. If that is what you want, sure. Our experience has taught us that preset packages often mean that customers pay for aspects that they may not want. This is why we offer our "pick-n-mix" approach to designing your ideal package.
Q. Can we pick a location other than the register office to have photographs taken?
A. Yes.
Q. Who chooses the photos that go in our album?
A. You do!
Q. What about black & white pictures?
A. No problem! Just let us know you would like some or all black & white prints. We can print your proofs in both colour and b&w. Your album can be either colour, b&w or a mixture of both. There are other print finishes available too, ask for details.
Q. What is this "wedding photojournalism" that my friends are talking about?
A. There are many stories at a wedding: the couple getting ready, ring bearer being coaxed to walk up the aisle, parents watching the first dance etc. Moments like these, when photographed without posing, are Wedding Photojournalism, also called Reportage. We can shoot this style for you, or traditional, or a combination of both, which we think works really well.
Q. How far will you travel to photograph a wedding?
A. Anywhere within the UK! As traditions change from country to country, we stick to what we know.
